New product for Crown Trade Fastflow range

April 5th, 2017

The trade has been a big supporter of the Crown Trade Fastflow range – and now the opportunities for decorators using the pioneering water-based system indoors and out are increasing with a new addition to the range.

Following extensive research and development, Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin has been launched for 2017. Featuring advanced water based technology, it offers the characteristics of a traditional solvent based product - with the benefits of a water based formulation.

The end result is a highly professional, contemporary finish, with fast drying performance and a low odour, as well as slower yellowing when compared to traditional alkyd systems.

Due to its fast-drying qualities, two coats can be applied in one day, therefore reducing time and labour costs – and it is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Of major significance is the fact it has also been manufactured to Crown’s renowned Breatheasy® formulation, which means it is 99 per cent solvent free a key attribute which today’s customers are increasingly requesting.

Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Satin comes to the market following the launch in 2015 of Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Gloss and Quick Dry Primer Undercoat. Soon after their introduction, decorators started to give the system a big thumbs-up.

They recognised the qualities of a product which performs like it is oil-based with attributes of a water-based system and leaves great lasting colour too.

Sharon Smith of Crown Trade commented: "The feedback is that the formulation allows decorators to have time to move the product around on the surface and we’ve also had positive feedback about the high sheen level.

It is suitable for use on prepared interior and exterior joinery and metal work, offers excellent flow, which minimises brushmarks and provides excellent opacity – and leaves a high quality, contemporary satin finish usually associated with solvent-based paints.”
